1. Finish reading play.
2. Re-read the section on through-lines and cross-lines in Notes on Reading Drama. You are an actor who has won a major part in Horse Cave Theatre's Young Performer's The Crucible. As an actor you will want to understand your character's motivations. In your weblog make notes while you analyze one major character's through-lines and cross-lines, then write your director a memo giving her a head's up on how you will be approaching your character's "spine" . This site might help as well
Use the "news" part of your weblog to write your notes and use the "story" part to write you memo. You may also write the memo on Word using a memo template and then upload that file as a "gem". Please call me if any of the weblog technical stuff does not seem self-explanatory. (Advice: fiddle about on your weblog and don't be afraid to make mistakes, then if you have questions contact me via e-mail, phone, or weblog.)
3. Go to the webquest on this page. Scroll down to the "Resources" section. These links are all under the category of persecutions. Check out the links under each category and then answer the following questions as a story or gem in your weblog:
a.What type of persecution has occurred (racial, ethic, gender, religious, etc.).
b.When the persecution occurs (i.e.1963).
c.Whether this type of persecution still exists (short, concise explanation).
4. Answer the questions on this page then tell me how you did as a news item on your weblog.
5. You might want to go here for fun.
6. Late-breaking site: check this out, too.
Note to Logan: When can we meet to watch The Crucible together? I start a class at Western next week, but I am home by 5:00 p.m. every day. Let me know. Thanks.
